Tyson, Tag and I spent this last week in New York. We thought we would take the opportunity to stay with my dad in uptown Manhatten one last time before he comes home from his mission in November. It was so nice of Carolyn and him to let us crash with them for a week.

One of my favorite things about our trip was Dean. Dean was in the Regis and Kelly window on the block next to where we were staying trying to beat the world record of running 240 miles in 48 hours. Every time we would come or go for the first few days we would "go check on Dean". If you look at the clock in the window you'll see that when we took this picture he had run 159 miles in 32 hours 37 minutes. I don't know if he made it...Go Dean! (To train he ran 50 marathons in 50 days.)

The weather was perfect while we were there--in the 70's. Central Park is beautiful. I decided I would spend every day there if I lived in Manhatten. Notice Tyson pushing the stroller in all these pictures--what a man! Really I just went too slow for him when I pushed it...:)

At the Natural History Museum Tyson saw some killer stibnite...as far as stibnite goes, I guess. Rocks are Tyson's thing, not really mine...

We walked the Brooklyn Bridge with my parents and got a cool view of the New York skyline. We got tasty pizza and ice cream on the other side (Brooklyn).
We couldn't keep Tag's beenie above his eyes...he'd get pretty mad when he'd wake up with his eyes covered.

We got up early to wait in line for standby tickets to the Conan O'Brien show. We almost didn't get in because they seated the first 30 people
two minutes after they told us we would have a 20 minute bathroom break (so we were in the bathroom). I was pretty mad, but they let a few more people in and we had a great time! They even showed me in the audience--I'm famous.

Our good friends Natalie and Scott met us in Manhatten for an awesome day in the city. We visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art (I decided I don't really understand art...I should have taken AP Art History), walked through Central Park by the Angel of Waters fountain, then subwayed our way down to South Street Seaport. What a fun day!

South Street Seaport has a fun pier with big ships, cute sidewalk cafes, street performers, and a great view of the brooklyn bridge (the bridge has a temporary waterfall next to it that lights up at night).

On our way to the World Trade Center Museum (Very touching...I forgot to take pictures there!) we stopped by the Washington Square Monument which commemorates the 100th anniversary of President Washington's inauguration.

The highlight of the trip for us was the broadway musical "In the Heights." It's a fun Latino style musical where classical latino music meets broadway meets hip hop meets light rap. It sounds strange, but it won a Tony award in 2008--the music is so fun and catchy! Be careful though, I haven't been able to get it out of my head since we got home.

We went to church in this four story ward house in Harlem. I don't think I've ever been to church where we had to climb stairs between meetings.

While shopping in Chinatown we found the best deal of all--a shiatsu massage.
Fun to see Tag becoming a world traveler. He's such a mellow kid. It's fun to see some shots of places we have been and remember how much fun it was.

That's kinda crazy that Zane's parents are going to the same mission. Too bad your parents are leaving right about the same time they will be going out. We'll have to plan a trip out there too, it looks like you had alot of fun!
